Good Friday afternoon to everyone.  This is one of my weddings from last year.  I was at a conference this week and they said that shabby chic weddings are on it's way out.  Well I am here to say, I don't think so, what happened to styling your event to your taste, not to the latest trends.  If you like shabby chic, for goodness sake do what you like, not what was pictured in the latest magazine. Ladies, this is your day, let it represent you and your future husband.

Well what a blast!! I just got back from Punta Cana attending an ISS(inspire smart success) conference.  It was hosted by all kinds of wedding experts, such as Preston Bailey, Grace Ormonde, and many others. I learned so much!  It was nice to get away from New Bern, North Carolina for a little bit.  We went for three days.  We were in classes for two and a half days and we had one afternoon free.  I know now that I have to work on my business and not in it.  I learned so much that I really don't even know where to start.  I think New Bern is ready for my next level.  I think it is becoming the next destination wedding venue.  So y'all hang on, I think you may start seeing some new things from me.  I am so excited, but I don't want to tell you too much right now.  I don't want to give away the secret!!!

Floriade

I felt like y'all had to see some pictures of the Floriade, it is a flower show in Holland that happens only once every ten years.  They had all kinds of exhipits but I am sure that you can guess the one that my mother and I made a bee line for, yes the florals, so take a look

I got to meet Preston Bailey.  If you are not familiar with him, he is the one that Oprah Winfrey put on the map with her fiftieth birthday party and after that his career just blossomed.  What an inspiration, he was to me.  He started off, really not knowing what he wanted to do.  He knew he had talent and he was smart enough to sit down and figure out how to make it pay off.
What a fabulous weekend we had.  I did flowers for a luncheon for the Nicolas Sparks charity weekend.  I actually had to pull a rabbit or peony out of the hat.  At 2:00 on Friday I had a call that 50 tables needed centerpieces by that evening.  Talk about panicking.  I flew to the peony farm and grabbed 300 white peonies.  The arrangements turned out great, a little loose, but by the next day they had opened up and they were glorious.  I think they really help the convention center in New Bern look really fresh.  I also was thrilled to be able to go to the luncheon and meet some of the celebrities that were in New Bern for the weekend.

We have started wedding season in New Bern, North Carolina.  I am so glad peonies are finally in season, I can't get enough of them.  We did bouquets out of them for this bride.

I also wanted to show some of the pictures from the gardens outside of Amsterdam.  Everything was so beautiful, it really inspired me to come back to New Bern North Carolina and jump feet first into the wedding season.  The color combinations they put together were stunning and the quality of their flowers were unbelievable.
